After years of faithfully writing monthly checks to SPU, Gordon Werkema, Class of 1980, refuses to write another. Instead, the Executive Vice President of the Seattle Federal Reserve Bank has established automatic transfers from his personal bank account to The University Fund at SPU.
When asked about this change in behavior, Werkema says, "I am committed to regular giving to The University Fund. By setting up a direct giving line from my checking account, I know each month I'm participating in the great mission of Seattle Pacific. A further bonus is that I don't have to take the time and trouble to write and mail a check each month."
