ANNUAL FUND
INVEST IN SEATTLE PACIFIC

My name is Olivia Lenz, and I’m finishing my sophomore year at Seattle Pacific University. I’m majoring in chemistry and minoring in clothing and textiles. I’ve loved every minute of my time here. SPU has made a huge difference in my life. Let me tell you how.
My story begins in small-town Ellensburg, where my two sisters and I grew up. Dad works for Puget Sound Energy, and my mom is a kindergarten teacher. I started classical ballet at the age of two. (Mom always says I was dancing by the time I could walk.) Growing up, I poured myself into school, dancing, sewing, and 4H. In high school, I discovered I liked science and math, and I took as many courses as I could in those subjects.
Those were great years, but I had no idea what lay in store for me in college. It has exceeded all of my expectations. My professors are dedicated and supportive. They want to see their students learn, grow, and succeed.
Most importantly, Seattle Pacific has encouraged me to look outward. It has helped me to believe that I can become someone who has the ability to make the world a better place. That has been life-changing. By learning from Christian professors and living in an intentional Christian community, I am strengthened and challenged. I will be taking my new global perspective on a mission trip with a group of students to the Philippines this summer. And I’ll take part in an internship at NASA, learning about nanotechnology. Just two years ago, I couldn’t have even pictured myself doing this.
But these changes might not have happened for me without someone like you –– giving financially to student scholarships. My younger sister will also benefit from your generosity, since she is planning to attend next fall. I’m looking forward to sharing my Seattle Pacific experience with her.
Simply put, there is no way I could be at SPU without the scholarships made possible by gifts to the University Fund from alumni, parents, and friends. Thank you so much!
With the economy the way it is right now, students and their families need your help even more. Your response is so important to us. Please make a gift to the University Fund by clicking on the "give now" button below. There’s a student whose life will be changed because you do.
Sincerely,
Olivia Lenz
