How should I dress?
As you know, it is possible to dress very casually and be right in place
on a college campus these days! Having said that, graduating seniors and
faculty wear caps and gowns for Ivy Cutting and parents of graduates in
attendance are usually in business/ church attire. Most 50-year reunion
participants dress similarly, but please do give careful consideration to
your shoes so that you can enjoy it fully! Walking around the beautifully-landscaped
campus will be a part of the day you'll treasure after you return home.
If the weather is sunny, you may consider sun protection like a hat and
sunglasses, especially when you are seated for the Ivy Cutting Ceremony
in Tiffany Loop.
Where do I park?
When you arrive on Friday, June 6, you may want to park in either the Ross
Lot to the east of the SUB on 3rd Avenue, or the McKenna Lot off W. Bertona
(see map). There is no need for a parking pass as lots will not be monitored
that day, but you may want to get there early enough to get a good spot.
Registration will take place in the SUB, look for the banner welcoming the
Class of '58. We'll begin the day in the Student Union Building (Pacific
Collegium Room) and then move to Gwinn Commons third floor.
I'm planning to spend a night or two in Seattle, where shall I stay?
Hotels can be quite expensive in the Seattle area. Some local hotels are
offering special rates for SPU guests if you mention that you are with SPU.
You can contact our office for information on hotels offering special rates

What can I do during my free time?
Seattle is a great town to visit as a tourist. Why not continue your "walk
down memory lane" with a visit up Fremont Street to our world-class Woodland
Park Zoo? What changes you'll see since you visited as a student! The Government
Locks continue to captivate residents and tourists alike. Quite possibly
the fish ladders with viewing windows are new since your last visit. The
Seattle waterfront, Pike Street Market, and Pioneer Square continue to offer
great vistas, shopping, and people watching. Downtown Seattle is a great
place to shop, from Westlake Mall to the upscale atmosphere at Pacific Place
on 6th & Pine. A day in Seattle for sightseeing and meeting reunion friends
for coffee, lunch, or dinner will be a highlight of your trip. The Alumni
Center can supply maps of the downtown area to help you find your way around
easily. Seattle Pacific University Class of 1958 Reunion Committee cordially
invites you to join your classmates for the Class of 1958 50-Year Reunion
Celebration.
